Overview

Cyber incidents can wreak havoc on organizations. Even worse, these cyber attacks keep increasing in intensity and caliber. Furthermore, regardless of caliber, they tend to incite damage to any organization. In such a scenario, only those organizations that take all the necessary measures after a cyber incident stay afloat and flourish in the challenging business environment. And this is the core aim of this course - to teach organizations to respond adequately to cyber incidents.

This is an unimodal course comprising three topics. The course discusses enacting a Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP) in the first two topics. The CIRP is pertinent to ensure that an organization. The course examines the five major components of the CIRP and explains them one by one. The second topic describes how organizations should manage a cyber attack. This explains significant considerations, such as communicating the incident with employees and the public, establishing emergency controls, forming crisis management teams, etc.

The last topic of this course is interesting. Instead of discussing a reactive approach to cyber incidents, it explains the role of IT Service Management (ITSM) in taking a proactive approach to stay protected from cyber incidents. With these three topics, the developers of this course intend to impart the basic but necessary knowledge required to ensure a robust cyber protection system across any organization.
