Position Summary Zachry Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Construction Field Mechanic to join our team. The Field Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction equipment from major manufacturers including Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, and Gomaco. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment used on Zachry’s heavy civil projects. What You’ll Do Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain issues on heavy construction equipment. Interpret parts and service manuals to properly identify repairs and order the necessary replacement parts. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and accurately document equipment condition and required repairs. Maintain accurate records of all daily maintenance and repair activities.
