Job Description

Description This is a full time position with GNS Electric Inc. The Journeyman Electrician E-6 participates in the construction, installation, alterations, additions, modifications, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, conductors, facilities, and equipment within the electrical construction industry. The Journeyman Electrician E-6 must be able to perform all electrical tasks with general supervision. This role may be part of a crew or act as the lead person directing a crew and should have the ability to direct less experienced apprentices and helpers. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for supervising and working with a crew Capable of installation of all types of electrical work Capable of troubleshooting motors, controls, circuits, and equipment Efficient in the areas of layout and blueprints Possesses the knowledge to rig and set up for all locations Possesses basic theory knowledge Responsible for positively identifying wire colors Responsible for reading, comprehending, and drawing prints and schematics Responsible for bending conduit using hand benders Responsible for using power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches Capable of digging trenches using hand tools or power equipment Operates trenchers, backhoes, and lift trucks safely Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in the GNS Electric, Inc. Safety Manual, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy Operates two-handed tools and equipment including cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers Operates company vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions Possesses the ability to read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, worksite directions, blueprints, and written instructions Able to
