Job Description

SUMMARY The Plumber assembles, installs, or repairs pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, drainage systems, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial structures according to specifications or plumbing codes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of these essential duties Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance if these essential duties Drive a vehicle to various jobsites throughout working hours a.
