This position is located at Eareckson Air Station in Shemya, AK. This is a rotational position where the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on-site at Eareckson Air Station and 1 month off, unpaid. While working on-site, housing is provided as a dormitory facility. All meals are served through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK, is provided by government-sponsored aircraft . Summary: The Water Treatment Specialist controls and maintains treatment plant equipment to clarify and disinfect water for human consumption. Performs laboratory tests for operational strategy and adjusts chemical feed rate settings to ensure compliance with EPA Primary/Secondary Drinking Water Standards. The incumbent is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plant equipment to meet NPDES regulations (specifically Eareckson Air Station Monthly Discharge Monitoring parameters).
