General Function: Under the direction of the designated supervisor, and in harmony with the mission and purpose of the established policies and goals for the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas, the Personal Trainer will assist with the development and implementation of safe, enjoyable, and individually prescribed exercise programs for clients. With an emphasis on ensuring the highest quality service to members and guests, the Personal Trainer will work with all staff to welcome, connect, support, and engage all members, guests, and staff. Qualifications: 1. Minimum of 18 years of age. 2. Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in the wellness field. 3. Must possess a nationally recognized Personal Training (PT) certification. The YMCA accepts PT certification from ACSM, NSCA, AFFAA, ACE, The Cooper Institute, IFPA, NASM, and NESTA. 4. Specialty II/Level 1 requirement: Must have a nationally recognized PT certification and 6 months training experience. 5. Specialty II/Level 2 requirement: Must have a nationally recognized PT certification and 2-4 years’ training experience. 6. Specialty II/Level 3 requirement: Must have a nationally recognized PT certification and 6 or more years’ training experience. 7. Must obtain YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles and Foundations of Strength and Conditioning within first 6 months of employment. 8. Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2. 9. Complete and maintain required
