Whether you’re a lifeguard, a swim instructor, or a little bit of both, you’re going to love working in aquatics at the Y because you’re helping swimmers feel confident and gain experience in the water. No problem, we’ll train you! * Starting at $14.00 per hour POSITION DESCRIPTION: To provide leadership within the Aquatic Program and to coordinate and supervise swim lessons under the principles of the Y Character Development; caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must possess a cooperative spirit committed to the Mission and Values of the Y. Ability to relate to aquatic staff, other Y staff and members and program participants. Will closely work with their Director to achieve the program goals of the department. Will be responsible for program set up and administration through the Daxko operating system. Will be responsible for all private swim lesson requests. Will be responsible for refund requests and class change requests. Will be assigned schedules of guarding and instruction by the Director. Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all participants. Physical ability to use both legs and arms to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200-pound person. Physically able to see, hear and project the voice across distances. Able to move to various locations, including in and around the swimming pool and sit in an elevated guard station.
