Job Description

Tara Palmeri is seeking a Video Podcast Producer to oversee the creation and production of a daily video podcast covering U.S. politics and policy. This is an opportunity to help build and shape a new editorial product from an experienced political journalist with a proven track record across legacy and new media. The video podcast will primarily live on Tara’s YouTube channel, with additional distribution across major video podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. This role requires someone with deep fluency in the digital news landscape, strong editorial judgment, and the production skills to consistently execute at a high level. Tasks • Oversee end-to-end production of multiple weekly episodes on tight deadlines • Develop episode concepts, identify timely topics and angles that resonate with the audience • Book high-profile guests including politicians, journalists, operatives, and policy experts • Prepare comprehensive interview materials including briefing documents, research packets, and suggested questions • Write and edit scripts for podcast segments and occasional explainer videos • Maintain editorial consistency aligned with Tara’s voice and perspective • Monitor breaking news and pivot production schedule as needed • Publish episodes to relevant platforms Requirements Required Qualifications: • 3-5 years of experience producing news and politics video content in digital-native formats • Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, particularly news and politics video on YouTube • Proven ability to book guests and develop relationships with journalists, political operatives, and experts • Exceptional scriptwriting skills with ability to write quickly under deadline • Strong news judgment and editorial instincts • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Highly self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage competing priorities • Experience with remote recording plat
