Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Description

The Need: Our client is looking for a qualified Mechanical Project Engineer to be responsible for completing the mechanical, process and installation of capital projects as well as Plant Technical support to enable the plant to meet its market, productivity, and/or quality goals. They will assist our central engineering team with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the mechanical engineering field. They will also execute design studies, manage contract engineering resources, follow procurement, fabrication, and factory acceptance of equipment, manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment, including both brownfield and greenfield environments. This support is needed starting immediately and currently planned to last 12 months. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis. Location: Emporia, KS (Onsite) Contract: 12 months with option to extend. CTH is not in scope at this time for this position. Work Status: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Green Card or US Citizen only) H1 may be considered if agency sponsored. Work Schedule: Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday – Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage. Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.
