This is an On-The-Job-Training opportunity that allows those who need some additional skills for the job to be hired and trained on the job with a starting earning potential of $50,000- $65,000 in your first year with overtime pay factored in. Your starting rate depends on your experience. You will learn how to drive and park a 53 ft trailer with a jockey truck and you will also learn the in's and out's of being a ground person walking along the railroad tracks climbing on and off of rail cars. On the job training is also available to become a forklift operator and crane operator if the employee in the position of Jockey Driver/Ground person proves to be a safe and dependable employee. Room for advancement. We run 24/7/365 day facilities. Pay: $19.80/ hr. Shift: 6am or 6pm. 10 hour shifts. Primary Responsibilities: Drive company vehicles in a safe manner. Spotting and parking of Intermodal freight trailers. Locking and unlocking of Intermodal freight trains. Be safety-minded and follow the rules and regulations. Physical Responsibilities: Climb in and out of vehicles numerous times throughout the shift. Alternate between walking and sitting. Constant climbing, stooping, twisting, and turning while performing Groundperson duties.
