Pacific Rail Services is hiring immediately for a Rail Terminal Diesel Mechanic to join our ever-growing team in a recession proof industry at the Union Pacific Brooklyn Rail Terminal in Portland, OR! Previous mechanical experience is required. Shift: Day Shift. ON call as needed The hourly Pay Rate will be discussed during the interview process and is commensurate with experience. You'll have the ability to make $65,000+ per year with overtime factored in PLUS EXCELLENT COMPANY BENEFITS. Candidates: Should have a minimum of 2-year experience in the mechanical field and be preventative maintenance minded. Must have own tools (Yearly tool allowance provided). Must have experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic and Diesel systems and components. Will need a valid driver's license. APPLICANTS MUST currently live within a 45-minute commute of Portland, OR OUT OF AREA candidates and/or those requiring relocation will NOT be considered. Primary Responsibilities : Diagnose and repair lift equipment, repair forklifts, company vehicles, and hostler fleet. Be proficient with maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of lift equipment and diesel tractor maintenance. Adherence to company, railroad and industry safety rules and policies. Recognize and identify non-diesel-specific related repair or maintenance items such as safety appliances, tires, etc. Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance which includes identifying and repairing damaged or worn components. Troubleshoot and repair electric, diesel and hydraulic components on lift equipment and diesel tractors. Keep a clean, safe and productive workplace at all times. Document all work performed to maintain vehicle and equipment record integrity. Maintai
