Job Description
Description BASIC FUNCTION : The Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CRPA) uses their lived experience with substance use and recovery to engage, inspire, and guide residents through the transitional housing journey. The CRPA builds trusting peer relationships while also assisting clients with identifying and securing permanent housing opportunities. MAJOR DUTIES : Provide individual support services rooted in recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction. Assist residents in developing recovery and wellness plans, setting personal goals, and identifying barriers to success. Model appropriate self-care and recovery behaviors, offering hope and encouragement through lived experience. Support residents with linkages to treatment, medical care, mental health services, legal assistance, employment, and educational opportunities. Collaborate with clinicians and external partners to ensure coordinated care. Conduct outreach and engagement with residents who may be ambivalent about recovery or services. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in accordance with agency and funder requirements. Attend supervision and ongoing training to maintain CRPA certification and strengthen practice. Assist residents in locating and applying for permanent housing, including supportive housing, public housing, and affordable housing lotteries.
