Job Opening at VistaRiver Hospice: After Hours Hospice Nurse Job Description VistaRiver is seeking a dedicated and compassionate After Hours Hospice Nurse to join our team in a full-time capacity. This critical role provides specialized care to patients in a hospice setting during after-hours to ensure that their medical needs are met efficiently and effectively. This position is not remote, requiring on-site attendance to provide the highest level of care to our patients during their most critical times. The committed professional will work a unique schedule consisting of seven consecutive days followed by seven days off, allowing for concentrated patient care and a balanced personal time-off regime. Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to hospice patients in an after-hours setting, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Assess patient condition during each visit, ensuring comprehensive documentation of observations and care provided. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician and as per the care plan. Maintain clear and precise communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care and updates. Respond to emergency situations with urgency and professionalism, providing expert guidance and interventions as necessary. Coordinate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals in the multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient comfort and prevent complications.
