Job Description

Responsible for the integration of mechanical and electrical components for battery platforms by creating structured 3D-CAD assemblies and using the state-of-the art FEA tools to ensure designs meet or exceed requirements. Perform mechanical design (e.g., 3D CAD modeling, FEA structural analysis) of components and assemblies. Develop the technical requirements for and identify components for the designs. Perform engineering analysis to define critical design parameters and predict design latitude. Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as electrical engineers and lab technicians to successfully develop and validate the designs. Evaluate the designs to meet requirements factoring in performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in integrating mechanical and electrical components for battery platforms by creating structured 3D CAD assemblies and using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to ensure designs meet requirements. Six (6) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles. Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Serviceability. 3D CAD modeling. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) structural analysis of components and assemblies.
