MTSS - Quality Assurance Test Engineer (Level I)

Job Description

Description HOURS: Eight hour shift M-F within 6:00 am to 6:00 pm MST operating hours. JOB PURPOSE: A Quality Assurance (QA) Test Engineer is responsible for the manual testing of the Edupoint web-based applications to ensure product releases meet or exceed quality standards. JOB SUMMARY: The duties include ensuring changes conform to accepted standards for test case development, reviewing functional requirements / technical requirements, and conducting testing for issues, enhancements, and major releases. JOB DUTIES: Write and execute functional and regression tests and required release documentation Track defects and coordinate defect/issue resolution Perform risk-based estimates on assigned work Ensure changes to the application meet all applicable standards Ensure all code changes are tested across multiple client environments Ensure QA defined policies and procedures are followed on an ongoing basis Retain and demonstrate application knowledge in assigned product area Other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS-KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: *Knowledge: Working knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices *Skills: Test case design experience Excellent written and verbal communication *Abilities: Able to thrive in a fast-paced performance-oriented environment EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years software quality testing experience or equivalent programming experience in Microsoft technologies on web applications Minimum 1 year in an Agile/Scrum environment Minimum 1 year experience with a Test Case Management tool CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
